Lodhi Garden

Lodhi GardenLodi Garden is on the main Lodi Road, Delhi about a kilometer east of Safdarjang's tomb and at 3 kms Distance from the west of Humayun's tomb. Lodhi garden open from sunrise to late evening to all. Lodhi Garden is a attractive famous picnic-spot for enjoy your holiday or weekend with family.

Lodhi Garden established in the 15th and the 16th centuries by the Sayyids and Lodis. The several tombs belong to the Lodi and Sayyid era are situated in the Lodhi Garden including Muhammad Shah's Tomb and Sikander Lodi's tomb also. Earlier Lodhi Garden Known as Lady Willington Park.

In the middle of Lodhi gardens Bara Gumbad and Sheesh Gumbad are situated. The Bara Gambad (Big Dome) consists of a large rubble-construct dome, a three domed masjid (mosque) and a residence surrounding a central courtyard, where the remains of a water tank can be seen. Opposite the Bara Gambad is the Sheesh Gambad, which contains the remains of some unknown family.

Beautiful landscape, well laid out with small water bodies, fountains and a jogging track are the main attractions of Lodhi Garden. Different species of trees ,a Rose Garden and A Green House attract to the nature's lovers. Lodhi Garden looks more attractive during the month of February and march because winter flowers are in full bloom. In Lodhi Garden visitors can see different species of flowers trees and birds.

During winter season garden get very crowded. Lodhi park look very beautiful at sunset under soft-light of sun. Lodhi Park is a favorite spot for joggers, fitness enthusiasts and morning walkers. Lodhi Park attracts equally to the young couples ,children and old age people also
