* Amir Khusro :- A Sufi mystic and a spiritual disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi, Amir Khusro (or Khusrau or Khusraw) was not only one of India's greatest poets, he is also credited with being the founder of both Hindustani classical music and Qawwali (the devotional music of the Sufis).
* Mirza Ghalib :- Mirza Asadullah Khan, pen-name Ghalib (1797, Agra, India - 1869), was a renowned classical Urdu and Persian poet of India. He was born to parents with Turkish aristocratic ancestry. He was always considered a free spirit, and the death of his father and uncle during his youth left Ghalib with no male-dominant figures. He then moved to Delhi and his house in Balli Maaran in the city is a national monument, although it is not as well-kept as a national monument should be.
* Mukesh :- Mukesh Chand Mathur (formal name was Zoravar Chand), (July 22, 1923, Delhi, India - August 27, 1976), popularly known simply as Mukesh, and was referred to as the man with the golden voice was a well-known Indian playback singer.
* Nizamuddin Auliya :- Nizamuddin Auliya (1238 - 1325 AD) also known as Hazrat Nizamuddin, is a famous Sufi saint of the Chishti Order in India. He was born in Badayun (east of Delhi), though he later settled in Delhi, where his shrine is still located. Nizamuddin was the spiritual disciple of Fariduddin Ganjshakar. He was also the spiritual master of Amir Khusro.
* Pervez Musharraf was born in Delhi :- Musharraf's parents came from a lower middle class background, however both were college-educated. His mother Begum Zehra Musharraf majored in English Literature. She worked for the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and retired in 1986. Syed Musharraf-ud-Din, Musharraf's father, was a graduate of Aligarh University in India. He joined Pakistan's Foreign Service in a clerical position and progressed in his career, retiring as a Section Officer in the Foreign Ministry. He spent several years in the capacity a supporting staff in the Pakistan Embassy in Turkey, where Musharraf spent part of his childhood and learned to speak fluent Turkish. General Musharraf is married to Begum Sehba Musharraf and has two children.
* Ravi Shankar lives in Delhi :- Ravi Shankar (born April 7, 1920 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India) is a Bengali-Indian musician best known for his virtuosity on the sitar. His ancestral home is the present day Kalia Upozila in Narail District, Jessore, Bangladesh. His mother's name was Hemanginee, and his elder brother Uday Shankar was a famous Indian classical dancer. He first married Annapurna, daughter of Baba Allauddin Khan, but the marriage did not last long. He later married his then student and admirer Sukanya Rajan. A disciple of Allauddin Khan (founder of the Maihar gharana of Indian classical music), Pandit Ravi Shankar is arguably the best-known Indian instrumentalist. He also danced and played sitar with his elder brother Uday's dance troupe.
* Khushwant Singh :- Khushwant Singh (born February 2, 1915 in Punjab) is a popular Indian writer, writing exclusively in English language. He did his graduation in BA from a Government College in Lahore and was later qualified as a barrister from King's College, London. Among the most prominent writers of our age, Khushwant Singh probably is also the most famous of all journalists in India.
* Shah Rukh Khan :- Born into a Muslim family of Pathan origin in Delhi, Shahrukh Khan has a Masters Degree in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi. His wife is Gauri Khan, a Punjabi from Delhi. He has a son named Aryan Khan and a daughter named Suhana Khan.
